about Leadership Now Candidates
Since 2018, Leadership Now members have identified and elevated highly qualified, democracy-supporting candidates for Congress who exemplify integrity, problem-solving, and a commitment to democratic governance.
The Leadership Now Candidates initiative highlights leaders across the political spectrum who combine academic and professional excellence with deep community engagement and a proven dedication to strengthening democratic institutions. Each is identified through Leadership Now’s rigorous, nonpartisan evaluation process, which includes research, scoring, interviews, and member input.
In the 2024 election cycle, 21 of the 25 candidates identified through this process won their races, including 13 in highly competitive districts. Many of these individuals have since earned broader recognition for their leadership, appear on our Democracy Defenders list, and continue to engage with Leadership Now members on bipartisan efforts to safeguard democracy.
With the launch of our 2026 cycle slate of Leadership Now Candidates, Leadership Now continues to elevate principled, pragmatic leaders who embody the resilience and integrity our democracy demands.
