Michelle Greene is a Senior Advisor to Leadership Now, focused on the Women and Democracy Initiative. Michelle has spent over 25 years working at the intersection of the private and public sectors to promote responsible business, economic empowerment, and gender equity. She helped to launch a new SEC-approved equities exchange, the Long-Term Stock Exchange, designed to improve capitalism by rewarding long-term, multi-stakeholder focused companies. She served in several executive roles at LTSE and continues as an Advisor and Board member. She also serves on the Board of Blackstone’s private credit funds (NYSE: BXSL and BCRED), is an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University, is a Fellow of the Aspen Institute Business and Society Program, and is on the Honorary Board of Halcyon, a non-profit advancing the future of impact-driven business.

Previously, Michelle was an executive at the New York Stock Exchange, where she also served as Executive Director of the NYSE Foundation. She served in the U.S. Treasury Department in both the Obama and Clinton Administrations, focused on financial markets policy, and also was a member of Obama’s White House Council on Women and Girls and Executive Director of a Presidential Advisory Council. Previously, Michelle was a consultant with McKinsey & Co., Inc., Executive Director of a Human Rights Center at Harvard University, and a corporate securities lawyer. She has served on the Advisory Board of the World Economic Forum’s Women Leaders and Gender Parity Program, as well as a number of non-profit boards. Michelle is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Dartmouth College. She lives in New York City with her husband and two children.
