Alex Brockwehl is Director of Policy and Partnerships at Leadership Now, where he works with the National Advisory Board and broader membership in engaging Congress, think tanks, and state-level policymakers to drive a forward-looking policy agenda to strengthen America’s economy and democracy.

Prior to joining Leadership Now, Alex worked for thirteen years in the federal government and non-profit sector, advancing policies to promote inclusive economic growth and strengthen democratic institutions both domestically and around the globe. Most recently, he served as Director for Migration Cooperation at the White House National Security Council in the Biden Administration, coordinating a diplomatic strategy with 21 partner countries to respond to
historic levels of migration throughout the Western Hemisphere. He previously held policy advising roles in the House and Senate and at the U.S. Agency for International Development and U.S. Department of State.

Alex received a Master in Public Affairs degree from Princeton University and a BA in Political Science and Spanish from Union College. He is a Visiting Researcher at the Brookings Institution and a Term Member with the Council on Foreign Relations. He speaks fluent Spanish.
