At a moment of heightened political pressure on core democratic and economic institutions, we called on Congress to use its full authority to uphold the Fed’s independence and prevent the use of legal threats to intimidate economic stewards. Our message was clear: undermining independent governance puts market stability—and public trust—at risk.
